Some advice regarding my proffesion

Hello,

I hope it is ok that I write in English.

I came to Norway almost a year ago, and i am still learning the language.

I am a medical doctor from my homeland, (i took my education outside the EU).

I have applied to helsedirektoratet to approve my diploma and get a license.

However it does seem a bit difficult to become a doctor in Norway.
From what I know, you fist need to take nasjonale-fag, helsefag and then Fagprøve which costs around 50000 NOK. That is of course after your license has been approved and you have passed the Norwegian language at a B2 level!

To start to work as a doctor in Norway you need to have undergone LIS1. LIS1 is very difficult to get as I understood as there are many people who apply and there is limited of how many people can get approved.

So my question is, how do you even start working without LIS1? Even if your diploma is approved, how can you start working when you have not gone through LIS1 as most of the medical jobs requires LIS1?

Some people have recommended me to try another country like US, Canada UK, Germany etc as they say try to work here a foreign doctor is almost impossible. So, I am asking if some here have some advice?

I am also a bit confused as there seems to be few doctors in this country, and many General Practitioners are quitting their jobs.

Hi, I would use your network for advice (i.e LinkedIn or friends of friends, former collegaues), and try to find someone with the same background as you. They will probably have more relevant advice.
